Our Approach

We are a caring group of licensed and board certified doctors of Oriental Medicine here to provide whole- body, individualized acupuncture care and herbal medicine. We believe in the tradition of East Asian medicine and the science behind it. Our goal is to integrate East and West to optimize results. So while our doctors may take your pulse and look at your tongue, as is customary in Traditional Chinese Medicine to identify signs of imbalance in the body, they may also palpate your musculoskeletal system for imbalances in the tissues, review or order labs and imaging reports, perform orthopedic exams, and evaluate your range of motion when appropriate. It’s a “best of both worlds” approach to medicine.

Dr. Elena

Dipl. Ac., DTCM.

I am a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I received my degree from ACTCM at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. My love of nature and plant medicine, inspired by my upbringing in Tahoe, is at the heart of how and why I practice natural and holistic medicine. Over the past 10 years, I have studied various lineages of plant medicine including Chinese medicine, Western herbalism, Indigenous plant medicine traditions, and California’s native medicinal plants. My fascination with human development, eclectic spiritual philosophies, and exploring how we meaningfully embody this human experience has also greatly guided my path in medicine. Alongside my clinical practice, I love to teach herbal medicine, especially orienting folks to the medicinal plants that grow around them to build a deeper relationship to the natural world.
